Together by Design! In Love and War! Free Books!

When life and love thwart Elena's well-designed plans, she discovers the riches available to those willing to bend, take risks, and surrender just a little control.

To celebrate the release of my latest contemporary romance, Together by Design (Winged Publications, May 2018), I'm going to give away two e-copies next week.

Here's a brief summary of the story.

Elena Tafani is in control of almost every aspect of her life. But getting arrested is only the first in a number of experiences that throw her summer completely off kilter.

She may know how to stage a home to show it at its best, but her life isn’t showing quite as well. There’s her runaway niece, her hard-bitten sister, her over-indulgent parents, and her judgmental clients. Then there’s Chaz, the best friend for whom she’s developing very confusing feelings.

What’s a good rule follower supposed to do?

The novella can be purchased online via the following button:

This is also a good time to mention that the entertaining four-novella contemporary romance collection, In Love and War, featuring stories by Miralee Ferrell, Kimberly Rose Johnson, Debby Mayne, and myself, has been priced down to only 99 cents for the entire e-collection for a limited time. All four stories concern couples who are initially adversarial before love works its way into their hearts. Click the following button to take advantage of the 99 cent pricing!

To enter the drawing for the two e-copies of Together by Design, leave a comment and your email in answer to my question below. "Please enter me" won't get you entered. Remember that subscribers are entered an additional time in each drawing. The drawing is done by email, so leave your email address, like so: trish[at]trishperry[dot]com.

Many commenters are left out of the drawing because they forget to include a way for me to notify them of their win (their email).

My question? What is something that came along in your life to disrupt the plans you thought you were going to follow? How did that work out?

I hope you'll also enjoy the interview below with Sherri Wilson Johnson!

I thought all my life I was going to be a nurse. When the time came I changed my mind. I still worked in the medical field. I found a better fit.

After 3 boys I thought I was done having children. My 4th pregnancy rocked my world, my plans, etc. However, my 4th son was such a joy. He brought a great amount of fun and laughter to our lives. He and son #3 were inseparable and are still great friends. If I could do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing. At the time it seemed devastating, but it turned out to be a real blessing!

When I was laid off of my job and an insurance company, I was determined to get my agent's license and work for an insurance agency, which I did. However I had interview with a company that a church friend owned. It was a food testing laboratory. I decided that it was too many miles to drive. Another friend at church ended up taking that job.

God and life has a way of changing things. After having cancer and being out too long on medical leave, I lost my job at the insurance agency. When I was finally ready to start looking for a job, my friend approached me again and said that he was looking to add a new office position. I ended up taking it and I have been there over 10 years now. Who knew the full circle that I would take? Only God knew.

My email address is debbiemcla(at)msn(dot)com. Thanks for the chance to win your book!

I love these stories! As you said, Debbie, only God knows what's coming. And how great to be able to look back and see blessings where we originally saw uncertainty or, as you said, Anonymous, devastation.

I encourage commenters to answer the question AND to leave a (fractured) email address if you'd like to be entered in next week's drawing.

Looking forward to other such stories this week!
