Local Girl Release and Give-away!
She is absolutely not looking for love--not on her own, and definitely not through her pushy, matchmaking friend. However...
Readers, today I'm introducing my latest novella, Local Girl, now available on Amazon. I'm going to give away a copy to someone who joins in the conversation below.
I'll enter your name in the drawing a second time if you also join in the conversation on today's interview with Jennifer Slattery, below.
And I'll enter your name a third time if you are a subscriber.
Here's a brief description of the story:
Entrepreneur Edie Keegan achieves ever-growing acclaim for her popular Local Girl perfume. Her romantic life hasn’t been quite as successful, but that’s fine with her. As she insists to her matchmaking friend, Sara-Penny Butler, she’s not in the market for love. But Sara-Penny knows better, and she understands Edie and her painful past more than Edie realizes.
When Ben Walsh, the town veterinarian, turns Edie’s head, she questions whether love is worth the risk of getting hurt, whether Ben is the man for her (despite her cat allergies), and whether Sara-Penny is ever going to mind her own business.
Local Girl is available for purchase via the button below. If you'd like to enter for the free e-copy I'm giving away next week, leave your answer to my question below.
So my question is this: have you ever been set up on a date via friends or someone a bit more aggressive, a modern-day matchmaker? If so, what was the upshot?
The drawing is done by email, so leave your email address, like so: trish[at]trishperry[dot]com. Many commenters are left out of the drawing because they forget to include a way for me to notify them of their win (their email).
Also, I'd love it if you'd connect with me on Facebook. Just click on my name at the right of today's post.
Annoying legal disclaimer: drawings void where prohibited; open only to U.S. residents; the odds of winning depend upon the number of participants. See full disclaimer, as well as my Disclosure of Material Connection HERE

What a great book! Thank you for the opportunity! mauback55 at gmail dot com
I was set up on a blind date once, he was nice but it was just a one date deal, no others after that. My husband and I were set up with each other's phone numbers to see if we would want to date! I am a subscriber. katie07edgar(at)gmail(dot)com
Mutual friends set my husband and me up on a blind date over 38 yrs ago. He worked with my husband and she worked with me. They were married. I kid them each yr on our wedding anniversary about whether to send them a thank you card or not!

I went on a blind date years ago that was set up by my pastor and his wife. It was with a pastor friend of theirs whose wife had died more than a year before (I can remember now how long ago it was). The date wasn't very successful. He really wasn't ready to date yet. I can't remember if we saw each other more than once.

So far we can see how Gail's situation was probably not the norm. But what a nice outcome! I'm not in the dating world, and I'm SO glad I'm not. I get the impression it's just not very easy these days.
I'm not one to go on blind dates. I'm comfortable with my singleness.

Never went on any blind dates, I did try on online dating site/matchmaker... I ended up meeting my husband the old fashioned way...at the bowling alley=)

Aw, that's nice, Patty. I love to hear about "old fashioned" meeting. Way too rare these days!
