Diane and David Munson and Free Books!

When Attorney Madison Stone goes North by Starlight to protect Jordan Star from an unknown heir trying to steal away the Vermont ski resort he inherited from his late grandfather, her faith in Jesus is rekindled and she finds joy she never imagined was possible.

Before we talk with today's authors, I want to announce that the winner of the free copy of Julia, by Vickie McDonough, is:

3dcatoe.fdjtc@...

Congratulations! We'll get your book right out to you. I encourage readers to keep commenting and/or subscribe at right (above my list of books) in order to learn about new releases! U.S. subscribers are entered in the drawings a second time when they comment.

And now let's meet novelists Diane and David Munson, authors of the inspirational romantic suspense novel, North by Starlight (Micah House Media, Nov/2018), a family-friendly Christian suspense with “too much suspense for a romantic Hallmark movie” and “too much romance for a Hallmark cozy mystery.”

ExFeds, Diane (former Federal prosecutor) and David Munson (former NCIS/DEA Agent) write high velocity Christian thrillers that are family friendly and inspired by their real life cases. This spousal duo create ‘factional fiction’ by weaving events from their exciting and dangerous careers into thrillers, which feature Christian characters living and working in a non-Christian world.

Besides prosecuting felons, Diane has practiced general law and was appointed by President Reagan’s Attorney General to head a department in the Justice Department.

Their books are also peppered with the drama David encountered while he infiltrated and traveled internationally as an undercover federal agent with criminal members of drug cartels.

David served as an investigator for the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations where he worked on national security issues.

Each of their eleven thrillers stand alone; however, the two protagonists do move from book to book. Diane and David’s eleven novels include the bestselling Joshua Covenant, The Looming Storm, and North by Starlight.

The Munsons live within a gated community in an undisclosed location, and are hard at work on their next thriller.

Okay, I have to say, you two are probably the coolest, most intriguing authors I've featured so far.

Please tell us one random thing we might not know about you.

Both of us have ridden elephants, Diane in a political parade, and David in Thailand.

Please tell us a bit more about the plot of North By Starlight.

In North by Starlight, after feisty attorney Madison Stone wins a difficult case, her boss insists she head to Starlight, Vermont from her D.C. law firm and save the inheritance of Jordan Star, sole heir of his late grandfather’s Star Mountain ski resort. Maddie has just broken up with her former boyfriend, attorney Stewart Dunham, and so plunges herself in work, desperate for a new challenge.

When she races to defeat the claim of the mystery relative, who is a daughter adopted by Jordan’s aunt Rosalyn, Maddie makes a shocking discovery. Her ex-boyfriend Stewart is the opposing counsel, who she must challenge in court.

Stewart is eager to represent the interloper and will stop at nothing to destroy Maddie’s case. She sharpens her legal skills to outwit Stewart and a greedy mining enterprise bent on changing Starlight forever. While her faith is renewed as she and Jordan form a powerful alliance against geologist Trevor Kirk, the ensuing legal battle leaves her emotionally vulnerable.

In the end, will Maddie save Starlight or will Starlight save Maddie?

What is it about Maddie that will make your readers care about her?

As the book begins, Maddie is living and working in D.C., and has a wrong focus in her life, putting her trust in her legal career and an unworthy fiancé. Readers will witness Maddie’s transformation as she temporarily moves to the beautiful Green mountains of Vermont during the Christmas season, where she is influenced by God’s creation in the majestic mountains as well as the friendship and care of the local villagers.

As a result of their kindness to her, Maddie realizes she has ignored her parents and reaches out to them with a deeper love. Her faith walk is renewed and she grows to understand the values of an honorable man as she allows herself to have romantic feelings again.

What novel would you like to see brought to film?

The two series written by Brock and Bodie Theone, entitled The Zion Covenant (9 books about dangerous times leading up to WWII) and The Zion Chronicles, (5 books revealing the events of Israel’s statehood in 1948) are excellent and would make a fabulous mini-series from a Christian perspective.

I love that idea.

What is the last novel you read that you would recommend?

The Search by Grace Livingston Hill tells the compelling story of childhood friends and how their lives and faith are changed by the soldier’s enlistment in WWI. Diane has read all of Grace’s 100+ inspirational romances, which are filled with Believers in Jesus living out their faith in tumultuous challenges. This one truly inspires us to live strong and boldly during difficult times.

What are you working on now?

We are writing our twelfth thriller, which promises to be contemporary and exciting, but beyond that, it is embargoed.

I have so much respect for people who are able to work well on collaborative projects, especially couples!

Finally, what question would you like to ask my readers?

I know I'd enjoy this book by the Munsons. It's right in my wheelhouse - a little intrigue/thriller, a touch of romance and faith. This book sounds like it has a great story line and interesting plot. I'm sure that the authors' experience in law enforcement add insight to their writing. I also agree that the Zion books by the Theones would make great movies! Thank you for entering me in this contest.

What a pair! I would love to read their book. I miss a bookstore. I now use Amazon for books. I read the reviews from there or Goodreads.

Thanks for the interview. The book sounds intriguing, interesting, and inviting. I have slowed down on buying books because of too many purchases in the past. I used to enjoy going in the Zondervan Family Bookstore and searching their section of specials. I often learned of new authors there. Now my primary sources are blogs such as this one, emails from authors, and Facebook groups. grandaddya[at]comcast[dot]net

I get my books from amazon, publishing houses or author websites now. I miss terribly the Bible book store. New authors I get by reading their free books that come up on Faithful reads or from contests. Blogs are great too when I find time to read them. So glad I took the time today! Love this interview and I found some new authors!

OH!MY! This books sounds like a must read. I live in a small town that doesn't have a brick and mortal bookstore. I go to the library often. I learn about new books through my bookish friends on social media.

I miss the smell of books as I walk into the door of a brick and mortar bookshop. I miss the feeling of exhilaration as I view the numerous choices on each shelf. I now follow several authors on Facebook as well as subscribe to their newsletter. I receive information about free ebooks from either the author directly or from Bookfunnel. Most of my books do come from Amazon.

I have never heard about or read any of Diane & Daniel Munson's books. Their book sounds like a must-read and review.

Thank for the opportunity to win one of your books.

There was only one Christian book store in our area and it went bankrupt. The regular chain bookstores only carried six to eight feet of shelving for Christian books. Amid thousands of shelf feet that isn't much choice. It forces me to shop online for selections.
I've never read the Munson's books but I think I'll have to pick one up soon. They sound fascinating.

We still have a Barnes & Noble in our area, but it actually smells more like a coffee shop than a book store. Still, I love going in there, and it reminds me exactly how addicted I am! I've forced myself to hold off purchasing for awhile, since I have more than 900 unread novels awaiting me in my storage unit.

In answer to the question, though, I still lean toward books besides those in my personal stash if they're recommended by reviewers and readers and I like the sound of the storyline. I also end up reading some books because they're going to be discussed in bookclubs. I moved away from my beloved east coast bookclub last year, so I'm starting to look for new bibliophiles out here in L.A. I always enjoy a book more when I know it's going to be discussed.

It's very hard to find good greeting cards. When I find a store with a good selection, I stock up. The last place was actually a small pharmacy.

Our Lifeway just closed in our city. All we have left now is Barnes and Noble. I do go to second hand or thrift stores occasionally to buy used Christian books. Also Walmart or Sams Club but they never have a great selection here. I look online and order from where I can get the best price for the book I want and the lowest shipping.
Recommends from friends and family or emails I get guide me to what is new and if it sounds like something I’d enjoy I go for it.
